Just Be There
Sometimes there is nothing else you can do for someone except to be there for them. Similarly, simply being there for you during difficult times is the only thing someone can do for you – but that may be just what you need. We are such a “fix it” culture, where a lot of people in need of support still have the viewpoint of “well, there’s nothing that can be done, so why bother them.” How sad and so unnecessary! I hope to see our culture be more supportive of valuing the simple act of “being there”, of witnessing each other’s tough times. Do you agree? What are some other ways you know of where people can support someone going through a difficult time, when they really can’t do much for the actual problem at hand?
